Our offer

Location: For this opportunity, we are looking for an African national. Whilst it would be ideal if you are co-located with colleagues in either Kenya (Nairobi) or South Africa, we welcome applications from across the continent.

Remuneration:  You will initially join as an Associate (self-employed) and be remunerated per project.

Helping you to grow: You will work alongside other researchers and be accountable to an experienced consultant where you will be exposed to the full scope of an executive search process. You will be given plenty of opportunity to contribute to the life of the company and grow your knowledge and skills along the path towards becoming a search consultant

Responsibilities

  • Research on multiple projects for candidates for search assignments. These may be in Europe, Africa, Asia or the Americas.
  • Take briefs from consultants and/ or clients regarding search projects, and write criteria and reports.
  • Build lists of potential candidates with the help of the Lead Consultant.
  • Build networks with candidates and clients within the International Development space.
  • Build knowledge on the International Development sector.
  • Screen candidates and assess suitability for roles (by video).
  • Approach candidates on agreed research lists by email and social media.
  • Overall help in building the company brand and helping with strategic input and vision.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

Candidates must have proficient, demonstrable knowledge of the following areas:

  • Recruitment or research (ideally including candidate research and assessment)
  • Experience working in International Development or Not for Profit sector(s). We will also consider new graduates with International Relations, International Development or Public Health degrees who have proven research skills
  • Account management/ project management
  • Working knowledge of Excel, MS Word and Powerpoint
  • Understanding of the African continental context

Candidates must demonstrate the following skills:

  • Sound written language and communication skills – fluency in written and spoken English. Additional language skills are very welcome.
  • Client management and candidate management skills- engaging both with discretion, integrity and diplomacy
  • Aptitude in prioritisation, decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Outstanding organisational and communication abilities.
  • Able to listen, digest, interpret and retain complex information.
  • Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.

Candidates must demonstrate the following behavioural competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage candidates successfully and with discretion, integrity and diplomacy
  • Commitment to Red Sea’s mission and values.
  • Able to work in a global team, collaborating with and supporting one another.
