    People and Culture Manager – Europe

    About the role

    We are seeking an experienced and results-driven People & Culture Manager. In this role, you are the trusted expert in all matters related to employment relations for Europe as well as ensuring compliance with employment and social legislation in countries where we operate.

    You are part of our motivated People & Culture Team working in a collaborative manner with our Leadership Team to implement our Employment Value Proposition. This role reports directly to the People & Culture Director.

    The role provides leadership to drive operational excellence across all people and culture management processes with a focus on justice, equity, diversity and inclusivity in employment relations, staff wellbeing, people and culture information systems. The role also manages the People & Culture Partners, People and Culture Officer, and People & Culture Intern.

    How you’ll contribute

    Employment Relations

    • Provide leadership to ensure competitive, equitable and legally compliant employment relations practices are in place to attract, retain and grow a talented and diverse workforce in line with justice, equity, diversity and inclusion framework of the network.
    • Responsible for managing the relationships with Employer of Records Service Providers
    • Work closely with GSCC’s Legal Team (Senior Legal Officer; Labour Relations) on all employment relations matters.
    • Work with the Learning & Development Manager to support the implementation of the GSCC’s staff engagement & wellbeing initiatives.
    • Work with the People & Culture Director to support the Senior Work Environment.
    • Coordinator to roll out GSCC’s network wide remote first work environment policy and related Initiatives.
    • Serve as the liaison between GSCC and Staff Representative & Work Councils on all employment relations related matters.

    People & Culture Information Systems

    • Provide leadership for the management of GSCC’s People & Culture Information Systems, eg IntelliHR, E-days, Pinpoint etc and ensure data integrity.
    • Co-facilitate quarterly audits of staff data to ensure data integrity.
    • Ensure staff are trained on how to use the systems.
    • Coordinate with the IT team to ensure systems operate effectively.

    Operational Excellence Across People & Culture

    • Work with the P&C Director and other P&C subject matter experts to develop and measure operational excellence principles, protocols and success criteria on headcount planning and approvals, staff data management, onboarding, off-boarding, employee communication, etc.
    • Collaborate with functional leaders to craft, develop, and implement technology solutions that increase operational efficiency, maintain compliance, and positively impact network satisfaction and staff experience.
    • Contribute to the development of the overall yearly P&C Department budget component of GSCC’s annual budgeting process.
    • In alignment with key measures in the Global People and Culture Strategy, work with the P&C Director to provide reports on relevant metrics for presentation to the network leadership team.
    • Collaborate with Line Managers, the Network Leadership team and other P&C experts in Talent acquisition, Compensation and benefits, Learning and development to deliver GSCC’s People and Culture Strategy.
    • Act as expert/advisor to People and culture Partners, Line Managers and the network.
    • Manage the performance of the People & Culture Partners, P&C Officer & P&C Intern.

    Our ideal candidate has

    • At least 8 years proven experience in a similar role in an international organisation.
    • Previous experience as an HR Business Partner and/or HR Generalist.
    • Strong knowledge of labour laws and employment relations practices in Europe, as well as good working knowledge of employment relations trends across the locations where the network staff are located.
    • Project management capability and personal organisation skills delivering against projected timelines.
    • Strategic thinker able to carry-on hands-on activities, solution-oriented and can-do attitude.
    • Ability to effectively communicate and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels in the organisation.
    • Tact, empathy and discretion.
    • Flexible self-starter comfortable to work in a fast-paced international environment.
    • Experience in managing teams.
    • Excellent command of English (both spoken and written), knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
    • Excellent collaboration, communication and influencing skills.
    • Adaptation to changing priorities, with the ability to follow through with smart and adaptive implementation plans.
    • Takes pride in delivering a high-quality service to the organisation.
    • Impeccable work ethics.

    APPOINTMENT DETAILS

    Location: Brussels (preferred), Paris, Berlin & Uk.

    Contract length:  A twelve-month employment contract with the possibility of extension. We are envisaging this as a full-time role, but are happy to discuss hours with the right candidate.
